About us

Citizens Advice Bury District

Bury District was formed in 1997 through the merger of Bury, Radcliffe and Prestwich bureaux. At the beginning of 2015 we restructured our service delivery to include a dedicated telephone advice service – Adviceline – to complement our existing services: drop-in sessions; face-to-face appointments; home visits where appropriate. In the last financial year we helped around 7,000 clients, with most enquiries relating to welfare benefits and debt problems.

We will always act in the interests of our clients, without influence from any outside bodies.

We do not judge our clients or make assumptions about them. Our service is open to everyone, and we treat everyone equally.

We won’t pass anything on that a client tells us, or even the fact that they have visited, without permission.

You do not have to pay for any part of the service we provide.
